I've just accepted a new job in Chicago and have to move quickly in order to make my start date there.
This means that I need to sublet my fantastic 1 bedroom apartment for the remainder of my lease (ends 12/31/15) starting the week of Sunday, July 5. I plan to move out and clean that day, meaning you could in theory be in starting Monday July 6th. I came into this apartment last summer as a subletter myself and renewed in December when I thought I needed to extend my stay a whole calendar year.
This apartment complex is owned and run by Thalhimer, and is so perfectly well maintained. This 480 sq. ft. unit has 1 bedroom (I have a queen sized sleigh bed which fits very comfortably) on the second floor, and has provided literally everything I need. The vibe of the complex and neighborhood is very relaxed...young single and coupled professionals quietly going about their lives. This space would be as ideal for a couple as for a single person.
The entire apartment (save the bathroom) has beautiful hardwood floors, and the kitchen is fantastic: new stainless steel electric Frigidaire stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer (w/auto ice maker), dishwasher. There is a garbage disposal and really quite lovely granite countertops. WASHER AND DRYER inside this unit. No coins, no trips to the laundromat.
This unit has central forced-air heat and AC, both of which are very efficient. Ceiling fans are in the living room and bedroom. There is ample closet space in the living room and bedroom. The bathroom has a large medicine cabinet with vanity bulbs, and a shower/tub.
Rent is $835/month exclusive of water, electricity, and cable/internet. There is no gas. Rent is due by midnight on the 5th of every month, and can be paid online, by check/money order. My hope is to find someone who can assume the entirety of July's rent
You would be mere seconds away from I-195, I-95, I-64. There is ample street parking. Cary Town is a 3 minute drive away, and I personally take every chance I can get to walk to VMFA and other highlights in the Museum District. The management company is very good as fielding and responding to customer concerns, etc.
To move in, it would cost just $1,085. This breaks down to $250 for your security deposit (currently in my name), and first month's rent. Water bills total about $30-44/month, and electricity has never been more than $120 even in the coldest and warmest of months. The building is set up for Verizon FiOS and it is remarkably good, reliable, and fast.
This is a great place to own a dog! There is a large grassy area where many residents exercise their dogs, but please keep in mind that there would be an extra pet deposit (for cats as well). Unfortunately, since this is on the 2nd floor, no dogs heavier than 15 lbs are permitted in this unit (although the girl downstairs is super sweet and doesn't personally object to someone in this unit having a larger dog. All of this can be worked out with the management office, as the ladies working in there are competent and very courteous.
Please take the time to study the pictures. I did not take them, but they're taken from the company's advertisements of other similar vacancies, with permission. I am happy to send more upon request.
In order to learn more, or to book a time to see the apartment, please reply directly to this post or text me on the number provided. You will be asked to fill out a rental application (I have copies) as if starting a new lease, but it's no sweat...the office needs a rental history on file. There is a non-refundable fee of $47 per applicant. They are prepared to walk us through the process together. to make it as seamless as possible.
I have absolutely loved living here, and am sad to have to give it up! I am hoping to operate on a first-come, first-served basis with this. The first person/people who express genuine interest and successfully complete the rental application win!
